About Me

Now based in Los Angeles, Ronny was born in Palos Verdes, California, and raised in Taipei and Hong Kong. She graduated from the University of Southern California with B.A. degrees in Journalism and Law, History & Culture in Spring 2022. This fall, she will begin her master's degree in journalism with an emphasis in Data at Stanford University.

Three years ago, she launched the podcast Empower with Ronny to offer college students career advice. The podcast features interviews with interns and managers from diverse industries, including Google, NASA, and the L.A. Dodgers. The wisdom gained from these interviewees helped her land internships the following year, where she served as a digital content intern at Discovery Education and as a college associate Fox News.

In her senior year, Ronny furthered her passion for supporting underrepresented groups as a researcher at USC's Annenberg Inclusion Initiative and as a student leader at Annenberg Media's first Asian American vertical, elevASIAN. Additionally, fueled by her interested in feature stories, she interviewed professional athletes to highlight who they are beyond the titles.

After graduation, Ronny worked as a teaching assistant for USC Annenberg's summer program, Storytelling in the Digital Age. Following that, she became an associate editor and assistant producer at Maria Shriver's Sunday Paper, an Anthem and Gracies award-winning publication. Currently, she is on a new adventure at Stanford.

In her free time, Ronny interviews inspiring individuals on YouTube and enjoys reading, food blogging, golf, and pilates.
